SUSAMMEN
SUSAMMEN focuses on the design of advanced membranes for energy applications, supporting the transition towards sustainable chemical production and fuel cell technologies. The project addresses the key limitation of current anion exchange membranes, namely their limited stability and performance under operating conditions. We adopt an integrated computational and experimental approach to develop hybrid membranes combining polymer matrices with porous materials. Multiscale modelling is used to understand and optimise the interface between components, while experimental validation ensures performance and durability under realistic conditions. The goal is to develop next-generation membranes with enhanced ion transport, improved stability, and higher efficiency for fuel cell applications.
